Evening All,
Today saw the final phase of a fortnight’s activity which transferred the entire 6th floor of the Evelina Children’s Hospital to Beckett House.
Although this seemed like a relatively simple task of moving around 50 staff a night, it had to be carried out in such a way as to cause as little disruption to the clinical services that depend on the support of the staff that were moving. The task was further complicated by the need to transfer existing IT kit from a “live” shared space and ensuring that it was installed and ready for use overnight.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kevin McLaughlin and Danny Fleming in particular for their excellent customer service and team management. The porters have all behaved in an exemplary manner, engaging with staff and behaving sympathetically at all times. They have been good humoured with staff and courteous when required and have acted as though they were, themselves, GSTT staff and part of the Evelina team.
The IT support that Jack and his team have provided has also been of the highest quality throughout. They have been proactive at all times and have provided detailed post-move handover notes each evening to assist the GSTT IT team for the morning after.
